Another design with a bit of Japanese influence: flares in the legs and the walnut drawer handles, and the different sized elm panels set in frames which are slightly ‘stepped’ at each junction and reinforced with faceted ebony pegs.  The top drawer on each side is lined with blue calf and divided with English cherry partitions. Pens are held in a separate tray that slides back to give access to the compartments below.
