I am first and foremost a designer-maker.  However, from time to time amateur or aspiring furniture makers have asked if I would spend a day or two helping them with a particular project or skill and I have enjoyed the experience. More importantly, so have they.

I don’t, at this point, offer structured courses: I would rather shape my instruction to address your particular needs or interests. You may be just starting out and wanting to develop some basic skills, or have been woodworking for years but find there are areas of design or making where you aren’t progressing, or perhaps you have a project which would benefit from professional guidance.  If you like my approach to design and making (I always advise students looking for a school or teacher to go to one whose style and ethos matches their own), please get in touch and we can talk about how I may be able to help you.

My preference is to teach one at a time, but I would be happy to consider pairs of students with similar levels of experience or complementary aims, so that I could be sure of giving both the time and attention they need.
